Skin Healthy Diet
A Skin Healthy Diet which uses healthy foods and liquids to ensure that your skin remains supple and smooth, but it also helps with the signs of aging such as crow’s feet and wrinkles. Obviously, nothing will get rid of wrinkles altogether unless you find the fountain of youth! But, these foods will slow the wrinkles down and minimize them.
Strawberries
If you thought oranges and grapefruit were considered Super Foods, you should take a look at strawberries too. Strawberries contain more Vitamin C than oranges and grapefruit. People that eat a diet rich in Vitamin C have fewer wrinkles and less age skin related issues such as dry skin. Vitamin C specifically fights free radicals. These are cells which are known to damage your skin and break down the natural collagen in your skin. If you want smoother, healthier, more radiant skin, you can apply a strawberry mask by blending, smashing or using a mortar and pestle to crush the berries up. You can then place the mask on your face once or twice a week. Also, you can also start to eat more foods with Vitamin C in them. You can even make an orange and strawberry smoothie. If you want to make a smoothie, and you do not have any leftover strawberries, you can also use blueberries or raspberries – both of which are fantastic.
Quality Olive Oil
You may have heard about the internal effects of quality olive oil and how it can benefit our body and heal all sorts of things. But, did you also know that olive oil can benefit your skin as well? Its true. This is nothing new, though; the Ancient Romans used to massage olive oil into their skin. When you use olive oil on your skin, it will create healthier looking and feeling skin; smoother, shinier and more moisturized. This is also a superb option for those of you that have dry skin in the winter months or if you have a job where you work with your hands, such as a factory job, and you have calluses or dry skin. Its simple, easy and pretty cheap too, but just make sure you are using a quality olive oil. It might surprise you that 69% of these “olive oils” that can be found in stores are fakes. You want something real and something that is of quality. Try brands such as California Olive Ranch, Cobram Estate, and Lucini. All three of these are the real deal, and they are quality products.
Pumpkins
If you’ve ever wondered why pumpkins are orange, its because of an ingredient in them called Carotenoids – the same thing in carrots. However, some people do not like carrots, so this is a great alternative. Carrots carry 451% of Carotenoids and pumpkins carry around 275%. Its much less, but still its advantageous. Carotenoids are a natural wrinkle-fighting ingredient. They keep free radicals away from the skin, and they keep the cells from fast forwarding when it comes to aging. Pumpkins are also full of Vitamin C E and A as well which are all very powerful enzymes to help keep your skin looking and feeling good. Eating pumpkin seeds are beneficial, however, creating a mask is even better. You can do this by buying some pumpkin in a can, adding some low-fat vanilla yogurt – or Greek yogurt, which has its health benefits, and some pumpkin spice. Coat your face in its entirety and leave on for about 10 min. Afterward, you can rinse to remove it. If you have some left overs, you can also use the above ingredients (canned pumpkin, pumpkin spice, yogurt) and add cream cheese and vanilla extract to make a pumpkin spice pudding!
All of these foods can be found in your local grocery store, but if you want to you can also purchase the organic version of these foods. It will cost you a little more, but it will be worth it because it will not contain things like pesticides.
